Since 2019, Al-Tadhamun Iraqi League For Youth, in partnership with the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and collaborating with governmental bodies and women's organizations, has spearheaded the establishment of the Women's Advisory Council in Anbar Governorate. This initiative focuses on nurturing women's leadership and fostering their active participation in decision-making processes across various societal levels.

Capacity Building and Advocacy

The council members underwent comprehensive training to bolster their confidence and collective action capabilities. Subsequently, orientation workshops equipped them with the knowledge and tools to fulfill their roles and responsibilities effectively, including drafting internal regulations, work plans, and delineating simple tasks for each member.

Key objectives of the Women's Advisory Council include:

Cultivating an enabling environment for women's leadership development.
Promoting increased female representation in decision-making roles.
Monitoring and evaluating the impact of women's leadership development programs and initiatives.
Advocating for policies that encourage women's participation in leadership positions at the local government level.
